Greg Zawatski’s Axial SCX10 Deadbolt may have started as a stock RTR, but it didn’t stay that way for long. He wanted to take its trail capabilities to the next level so he started tossing upgrades at it: SSD axle housings–a D60 with 36t overdrive gears, CVDs and brass beef tubes in front, and out back a Diamond rear with HD 43t underdrive gears. It also received MIP driveshafts, a Hot Racing steel-gear tranny, Pro-Line Scaler shocks, Vanquish Method beadlock wheels, and Pit Bull Growler 1.9 tires. It also got SSD bumpers front and rear, BGR V1 rock sliders, and a 3Racing winch with Locked-Up RC Command winch parts. He kept the stock Axial radio and controller and dropped in a Holmes Hobbies 35t Crawlmaster motor, a Castle Creations BEC, and a Savox SA-1283SG steering servo. He trimmed the body to lower it and make room for the tires to flex.
